The essence of existence lies in the continuous process of endless transformations, from birth to death. But while life is a spark created from nothing, death itself has the onerous task to transform what already exists. In this collection we do not lend an ear to the death rattle, but we cast a glance over eternal immutability that results. The forgotten soul and sufferings, now only memories, become hard and silent stone. The green shoots in which the sap once flowed past have given way to the harsh wooden zest that survives to the ordeal of the world. What remains of an engine, of the day or nature is nothing else but their immortal soul: iron, dark, plastic and concrete. Anything anti-heroic and ephemeral becomes eternal and unchanging. Everything has to change so everything can stay the same.

Nel continuo processo di infinite trasformazioni, di nascite e di morti, sta l’essenza della esistenza stessa. Ma mentre la vita è una scintilla che crea dal nulla, tocca alla morte il gravoso compito trasformare ciò che già esiste. In questa raccolta non si tende l’orecchio all’ultimo gemito, ma si assapora l’eterna immutabilità che ne deriva. L’anima e i ricordi di sofferenze ormai dimenticate si fanno pietra immobile e silente. I verdi virgulti in cui scorreva un tempo la linfa hanno lasciato il posto alla dura scorza lignea che sopravvive alle intemperie del mondo. Ciò che resta di un motore, del giorno o della natura non è che la loro anima immortale:  ferro, buio, plastica e cemento. La fine antieroica dell’effimero che diventa eterno e immutabile. Bisogna che tutto cambi perché tutto resti uguale.
